Jordan's government spokesperson Mohammad al-Momani has condemned the Iran 'terror attacks' that hit this morning, regardless of the motivations behind them.

Momani spoke for the government's rejection of the attack that has "targeted innoccent lives and has destablised society and country."  He offered his condolences to the families and loved ones of the civilians caught up in the terrible tragedy.

At 10 am local time, attackers waged coordinated gun and suicide bomb assaults on Iran's parliament building and the tomb of the republic's revolutionary founder.  This has been the most dramatic attack in decades to affect Iran's capital.

At least 12 people were killed and several more injured in the double assault on  Tehran, as reported by state media. A third attack was further foiled, said Iran's Intelligence Ministry. The so-called Islamic State (IS) claimed the attack.
