There are 28.6 doctors and 17.8 pharmacists for every 10,000 people in Jordan, according to the Head of the Private Hospitals Association, Fawzi Al Hammouri.
These figures are higher than the ones recorded in Britain and the US, Hammouri noted.
Hammouri added in the lecture he delivered this week, titled “Medical Tourism in Jordan,” that the Kingdom is the number one destination for medical tourism in the Middle East.
Jordan receives 250,000 patients annually from 62 Arab and non-Arab nationalities, who get treated for various medical issues, most notably heart diseases (including heart surgery), obesity and infertility.
There are 65 private hospitals in Jordan, providing top-notch services for their patients.
