Head of Al-Bashir Hospital, Dr. Mahmoud Zureiqat confirmed today that the number of people quarantined at Al-Bashir Hospital in suspicion of having coronavirus has decreased.

In a statement to Roya, Zureiqat said that around 11 Jordanian citizens are currently quarantined at the Epidemic Diseases Department (Isolation Department).

He explained that the 11 citizens will undergo medical examinations to ensure that they don't have corona.

"No new citizens were admitted to the Hospital in suspicion of having corona," Zureiqat stressed.

"No coronavirus cases are registered in the country after the Ministry of Health and the Interior Ministry took precautionary measures," he stated.

The Minister of Interior, Salameh Hammad had earlier decided to bar Chinese passport holders, who departed China for a period not less than two weeks, from entering the Kingdom.

This decision, which does not include Chinese nationals who left their country two weeks ago, comes as a precautionary measure to protect the public health and safety and to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus in Jordan.
