Results of recent laboratory tests, for the first person infected with the novel coronavirus in the Kingdom and his colleague at the quarantine at Prince Hamza Public Hospital, have confirmed that they are free of the virus.
"The infected and his colleague have tested negative," Health Minister, Saad Jaber, confirmed in a press statement he made on Monday, March 9.
He added that the infected and his colleague will undergo another medical examination next Friday, in accordance with the tests system followed by the World Health Organization (WHO), which stipulates that the tests must be repeated four days after the last examination to confirm the result.
He said that if the infected and his colleague test negative for the virus on Friday, the infected will be officially announced "cured", and he and his colleague will be discharged from the quarantine.
