The Aqaba Health Director, Ibrahim Muayah, has said that 16 people have completed today a two-week quarantine at a hotel in the Aqaba governorate.

He added that the number of people quarantined since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis has reached 260, of whom 235 persons have left precautionary isolation in local hotels, to continue self-isolation at home according to the standard health procedures.

The epidemiological inspection teams have collected 580 random samples during this week, he stated, adding that the test results were all negative.

Muayah said medical teams at the port city's border crossings are testing those who enter to ensure that they are coronavirus-free.
