A doctor at Al-Bashir hospital has tested positive for coronavirus, it was revealed on Tuesday, July 7.

He contracted the virus from a patient who visited the public hospital three days ago, the Director General, Mahmoud Zureikat, told Roya.

The doctor was diagnosed through random testing carried out for all medical staff at the hospital.

Al-Bashir hospital has been isolated for sterilization, and samples were taken from anyone who came in to contact with the doctor. Further positive cases are expected, said Zureikat.

He said Al-Bashir Hospitals continue to provide their services to citizens normally, according to work protocols and infection control procedures.
