Students in Jordan will return to education on September 1, the government announced on Wednesday.

A plan outlining three scenarios in which education would be delivered depending on the country’s COVID-19 status was outlined by the Minister of Education, Taysee Al-Nuaimi.

These include returning to schools as usual, online learning, or lessons delivered in morning and evening shifts.

The structure of the school terms will remain the same as normal, depending on the stability of COVID-19 in the Kingdom.

Al-Nuaimi said the ministry would support Jordanian students currently overseas by allowing them to reintegrate into education as soon as they return to the country.

The government has also launched an online registration service which provides parents with information about the nearest schools to enrol first grade students.
