Jordan has confirmed three new coronavirus cases today, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 1,201, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health.

According to the statement, today’s new infections appear as follows:

  • Two cases involve Jordanians returning from abroad, who are currently in quarantine hotels; one from Qatar and one from Turkey.
  • A Jordanian truck driver who arrived via the Al-Omari border from Saudi Arabia.

Three patients have recovered at Prince Hamzah Hospital in Amman.

A total of 5,663 random tests were conducted today, bringing the total number of tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis to 48,3111, according to the statement.

“The risk of the COVID-19 epidemic still exists despite the decrease in number of cases and everyone should adhere to all precautionary measures, wear masks, social distance, use the Aman application to alert in case of contact with an infected person, and help in the early detection of potential coronavirus cases," said the Ministry of Health.
