New travel procedures to be implemented at Jordanian airports due to the COVID-19 crisis could mean travellers face prolonged waiting times on arrival, the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission Chief Commissioner, Haitham Misto, told Roya on Sunday.

Airports will reopen to all airlines willing to travel to Jordan, so long as they adhere to conditions issued by the Jordanian government, said Misto.

Anyone wishing to leave Jordan can do so without restrictions, but travellers must adhere to the safety rules of the countries they intend to enter.

People arriving in Jordan will be tested for COVID-19 at the Queen Alia International Airport and arrivals from ‘green countries’ will not need to wear tracking bracelets, added Misto.
