Medical staff at Al-Bashir Hospitals get tested for COVID-19 every 14 days and there are currently no positive cases among their workers, the director of Al-Bashir Hospitals, Mahmoud Zureikat, told Roya on Tuesday.

Health investigation teams continue to take random samples from visitors and other staff members, he said.

Al-Bashir hospitals have been dealing with an overwhelming number of visitors, especially during the coronavirus crisis, as people are being transferred over from Prince Hamzah Hospital.

Al-Bashir management has developed a work plan in preparation for an expected increase in the number of visitors during the Islamic holiday, Eid Al-Adha, this weekend.

Zureikat warned the public of the health dangers of the current heatwave, advising people with heart problems to stay home and drink lots of fluids.

Citizens should adhere to health and safety measures, drink more fluids and avoid direct sunlight, he added.
