Home quarantine will be imposed on Jordanian truck drivers entering the Kingdom from Saudi Arabia through Al-Omari Border Crossing, said a source from the Ministry on Interior on Friday.

Those arriving from green and yellow countries will be isolated at home for seven days, while those arriving from red countries will be isolated for 14 days, starting Sunday.

Jordanian truck drivers who are currently in quarantine at the border crossing will be released as soon as the legal procedures are finalised.

This announcement came after the director general of the Transport Regulatory Authority, Salah al-Lozi, announced that institutional quarantine will no longer be imposed on drivers coming from abroad, as of Thursday.

The source stressed the need to keep these precautionary measures in place, in light of the significant increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom, to protect the health and safety of the drivers and citizens.
