Adaileh: No intention to extend total lockdown

There is no intention to extend the total lockdown in Jordan until Monday, said the Minister of State for Media Affairs of the caretaker government, Amjad Adaileh, on Friday.

In addition, Adaileh said the information which were circulated about the extension of the nationwide lockdown in the Kingdom are false, noting that the current total lockdown is imposed for a period of 48-hour only, according to Al-Ghad Newspaper.

The two-day lockdown, on Friday and Saturday, was announced on Tuesday, October 6, based on decisions by the Crisis Management Cell, following an increase in the number of positive coronavirus cases and deaths in Jordan.

The 48-hour lockdown decision will be implemented on all coming Fridays and Saturdays until further notice.

However, this decision will not include the COVID-19 investigation teams, medical and nursing personnel and essential workers.
