The Crisis Management Cell announced on Wednesday, sectors and people excluded from the 48-hour total lockdown on Friday and Saturday.

The excluded sectors are:

• The COVID-19 investigation teams, medical and nursing personnel and essential workers.
• Travellers leaving or arriving to the country, as they are allowed to pass checkpoints by showing their boarding pass and are permitted to be driven to the airport by one person only.
• Private laboratories approved by the Ministry of Health to conduct PCR tests.
• Pet shop owners, but they should show their municipality license and a license from the Minsitry of Agriculture, as they can operate from 2 pm until 4 pm.
• People who finish their quarantine period at hospitals and the Dead Sea region, as they can leave by showing the hospital discharge paper.
• Residents who are given permits related to humanitarian and emergency cases.
• Dialysis or cancer patients are allowed to leave their houses to go to hospitals.
• Those traveling to countries that require a PCR test and their test must be conducted during the two-day lockdown.
• Employees at security and protection companies, from 8 am until 12 pm.

The total lockdown will start at 1 am on Friday until 1 am on Sunday across the Kingdom.

This decision came based on recommendations from the Crisis Management Cell at the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management, due to the huge increase in the number of positive cases in Jordan.

The government reiterated the need to abide by health and safety measures such as wearing facemasks and social distancing.
