Jordan records significant decrease in number of COVID-19 deaths, infections

Jordan has recorded a significant decrease in the number of COVID-19 deaths and infections from Saturday Dec. 12 to Friday Dec. 18 in comparison to the previous week.

The Ministry of Health issued a weekly COVID-19 report which showed 16,055 coronavirus cases and 232 deaths. In comparison, Dec. 5 to Dec. 11 had 94 more deaths and 5,051 more COVID-19 cases.

According to ministry figures, the number of PCR tests conducted reached 135,975, compared to 148,109 PCR tests during the previous week.

Friday, Jordan recorded 22 deaths and 1,708 new infections, bringing the total number of deaths to 3,518 and the total number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic to 271,514 cases.
