Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned Kosovo's opening of an embassy in Occupied Jerusalem, considering it a clear violation of international law.

The ministry’s spokesperson, Dhaifallah Al-Fayez, affirmed that opening the office in Occupied Jerusalem blatantly contradicts the provisions of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.

He said that any measures or decisions aimed at changing the status of the city of Jerusalem or its legal status are considered invalid, illegal, and without legal effect.

Feb. 1, the Israeli Occupation and Kosovo established diplomatic ties with the Muslim-majority country recognizing Occupied Jerusalem as the capital of the Israeli Occupation.

Kosovo also said it was ready to set up its Israeli Occupation mission in Occupied Jerusalem, in exchange for recognition, as it seeks to further legitimize its 2008 declaration of independence from Serbia and statehood.

Kosovo is the fifth country to normalize relations with the Israeli Occupation in recent months, after the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco.
