The Minister of State for Media Affairs, Sakher Dudin, Thursday said that the relief package that the government will announce "will primarily target the pocket of the citizen," noting that "had it not been for the Friday ban, the injuries would have been much higher."

Speaking to the Voice of Hayat radio program, he added that citizens will feel the economic impact after the new measures.

Dudin stressed that the government had not put forward the option of a comprehensive, long-term lockdown, injuries would have been much higher, indicating that the ban on Friday breaks the chain of the epidemic and reduces the number of infections.

He stressed that the government will review the current procedures in the event that the epidemic curve flattens at the end of this month.

He explained that the extension of curfew hours has harmed the state as well as the citizen, saying "We ask the citizen to be patient a little bit until we get past this critical stage."

On the vaccination program, he said, "750,000 Jordanians have registered to receive the vaccine, and we can vaccinate 20,000 Jordanians daily and we seek to vaccinate 50,000 per day."

He said the government seeks to make tourism areas in Jordan safe as as to revitalize domestic and foreign tourism by allowing vaccinated tourists to enter those areas.
