Thursday, the Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Al-Hawari, said he agreed with the government’s decision to reinstate Friday prayers in mosques and allow worshippers to perform Fajr and Maghrib prayers in mosques.

He further stated that the country is moving in the right direction, and that he expects measures to be eased soon.

His statements came during an inspection tour of Prince Hamzah Hospital, where Al-Hawari wanted to ensure the safety of the work environment inside the hospital, and ensure all needs are being met.

Al-Hawari stressed that the commitment to preventative measures by citizens will protect Jordan from fully entering a third wave of the coronavirus, and that wearing a mask and social distancing have the same effect as lockdowns.

He said administering more vaccines will allow the people of Jordan to enjoy a safe summer.

Al-Hawari stated out that all hospitals in Jordan have decreased occupancy rates to less than 60 percent.

"We are optimistic in the coming days."

He indicated that there are fewer than 2,000 patients with Coronavirus in those hospitals.
