Tuesday, many websites around the world went down, including major media websites like CNN, The New York Times and The Guardian, in addition to government websites such as Gov.uk.

Some of the websites started showing error messages that appeared at around 10:00 GMT.

The problem appeared to be related to an outage at Fastly, an American cloud computing services provider, which reported a widespread failure.

However, Fastly announced that the problem has been solved.
