Tuesday, the Ministry of Health announced that more than 90 percent of the educational staff have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Schools across the Kingdom are set to reopen Wednesday, Sept. 1, after months of closures and distance learning.

Earlier Tuesday, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs Najwa Qubailat spoke to Roya about the mechanism for receiving around 2.2 million students on the first of September.

She said that on Wednesday, Sept. 1, students in the first, third, fifth, seventh, ninth and eleventh grades will attend in-person classes, as for the rest of the grades, they will return to in-person classes on Thursday, Sept. 2.

Starting Sunday, all school students, including kindergarten students will return to in-person education, and students will join their classes at full capacity.

She indicated that the ministry has developed three scenarios for students' return to in-person education, including:

1- Schools must comply with the required health and safety measures, including committing to maintaining a distance of one meter between students inside the classrooms.

2- Schools that do not adhere to maintaining a distance of one meter between students will return to the rotational shift system.

3- If a student tests positive for the coronavirus, the student must home-quarantine for a period of 14 days, in addition to that the student will switch to distance learning.
