Al-Hussein Technical University hosts Robotics Expert from Japan to lecture on Robotics

The Embassy of Japan in Jordan and Al-Hussein Technical University (HTU), A Crown Prince Foundation Initiative organized today an online lecture on Robotics, given by Prof. ISHIGURO Hiroshi, Director of Hiroshi Ishiguro Laboratories at the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute, who is also a professor at Osaka University, Japan.

The lecture entitled “Frontline of Robotics: A Vision of Future Intelligent System from Japan”, covered key aspects of advanced researches on Robotics in Japan and how Robotics can contribute to create a future intelligent systems. The lecture also shed light on the advanced technologies and ideas planned to be presented in Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.

HE SHIMAZAKI Kaoru, Ambassador of Japan to Jordan, stressed Japans keenness to strengthen co-operation with Jordan in many fields, especially in science, academia, and culture. He added that “Robotics and AI are keys to depict and build better future in our age. It’s great to see young Jordanians interested in the topic through the lecture by one of the greatest scholar of the world in the field of Robotics”.

Prof. Lutfi Al-Sharif, Dean; School of Engineering Technology, at HTU welcomed Prof. Ishiguro and attendees, expressing his appreciation for such an opportunity, adding that “Robotics and AI are transforming practically every industry and enhancing the capabilities of standard technology, and we at HTU are increasingly keen to utilize such technology to give our students a competitive edge.”
