The World Health Organization will reconvene its emergency committee on monkeypox in the week of July 18 or sooner if needed, its chief said Wednesday.

"I continue to be concerned by the scale and spread of the virus," Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a press conference in Geneva, with more than 6,000 cases now confirmed in 58 countries.
