Thursday, the Saudi Ministry of Health announced the detection of a case of monkeypox in the city of Riyadh.

The case belongs to someone who returned from outside the Kingdom, the announcement added.

The ministry reassured residents that the case is currently receiving medical care and none of its contacts showed any symptoms, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Additionally, the Health Ministry confirmed that it is still monitoring any developments of monkeypox and is being transparent about the announcement of any recorded cases, indicating its readiness to deal with any development of the disease.
