Investigation teams in Irbid were able to identify and arrest a person who caused the death of a citizen after firing stray shots on June 10. The victim was standing in front of his house when he was hit with the stray bullet and died after being hospitalized.

The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate said that the authorities have increased their efforts during the past month and a half to find the perpetrator.

Despite the lack of evidence in the case, the spokesperson indicated that the investigation team continued its work, one of which was summoning anyone suspected of hosting a party or an event on that day. The authorities also seized 15 firearms, all of which were sent to the Department of Laboratories and Criminal Evidence, to be compared with the bullet that caused the death of the victim.

One of the weapons matched the bullet and its owner was arrested after learning he was present in an event that was held on that day in an area near the site of the injury.

The perpetrator was arrested and will be referred to the judiciary.
