Adviser to the Cabinet of Ministers for Health Affairs Adel Belbisi confirmed Monday that there will be no return to any COVID-19 restrictions in Jordan.

He added that the Kingdom is witnessing an increase in the number of coronavirus infections compared to the past few weeks. However, he also indicated that the increase in the number of PCR tests conducted this week contributed to the increase in the cases discovered.

Belbisi lastly called on citizens to adhere to wearing face masks in crowded places.

Jordan recorded four deaths and 4,763 new coronavirus cases in one week (from July 16 until July 22), bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 1,709,879, according to the weekly COVID-19 statistical report issued by the Ministry of Health every Sunday.
