Tuesday, the Grand Criminal Court charged a man who killed his sister in Balqa with premeditated murder. The man fired nine shots at his pregnant sister on Saturday, July 23.

The Public Prosecutor decided to detain the brother for 15 days at the Correction and Rehabilitation Center.

A source close to the investigation said that the body belonged to a 29-year-old pregnant woman. An autopsy was carried out at the forensic medicine department in Salt.

The autopsy also showed that the fetus' body was not hit by any bullets.

Earlier this week, a brother shot his sister dead due to personal disputes between the two in Balqa, according to a statement from a security source.

The source added that the authorities arrested the young man, and transferred the body to the forensic medicine department.

Investigations are currently underway.
