A total of 12 people were killed, including women and children, and five others were injured after a bus collided with a truck on a main road leading to Babil Governorate, south of the capital, Baghdad, reported Iraqi authorities.

The authorities said that the cause of the accident was speeding and a wrong turn by one of the drivers, which led to the collision between the minibus and the truck.
