Yemeni oud player and social media star Ahmed Alshaiba died Thursday in a car accident in New York, according to his brother.

Alshaiba is known for his oud renditions of hit international songs, including Ed Sheeran's “Shape of You,” Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal,” as well as Justin Bieber’s “Despacito.” Also the theme songs of “Game of Thrones” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

He also worked on creating original music. Alshaiba released his latest album “Malahide” in August.
