A three-year-old was murdered in Egypt by her father who set parts of her body on fire after torturing her using a mobile charger cord because she opened the refrigerator without his permission, according to reports made by local media.

The Cairo 24 website reported that the child’s stepmother said that her husband assaulted his daughter, inflicting severe injuries, as punishment for opening the refrigerator without his permission.

The investigations confirmed the stepmother’s statements, who had been married to the perpetrator for several months after he left his first wife and took their child, the victim, to live with him.

The accused also admitted his crime and stressed that he set fire to parts of his child's body and beat her with a phone charger cord until she lost consciousness and was taken to hospital.
