80 new cholera cases recorded in Lebanon

A total of 80 new cholera cases were recorded in Lebanon on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases to 169, the Lebanese Minister of Health Firas Al-Abyad said.

Abyad added in a press conference that cholera is spreading widely in Lebanon, mostly among the displaced Syrians.

He indicated that contaminated water in several areas is the main factor that contributes to the increase in cholera cases, as well as contaminating vegetables from irrigation water.
