Thursday, Lebanon's divided parliament failed for a third time to elect a successor to President Michel Aoun, stoking fears of a political vacuum after his mandate expires in 10 days.

A total of 119 lawmakers out of Lebanon's 128-seat parliament attended the session, 55 of whom cast a blank ballot, while candidate Michel Moawad seized the most votes at 42.
