The Incident Manager at the Ugandan Ministry of Health announced 141 confirmed cases, 55 deaths and 22 probable cases of Ebola in Uganda.

He also confirmed that "the restrictions of movements in two districts has slowed down the transmission for the importation of cases outside the epicenter districts" after the implementation of two consecutive 21-day lockdowns in Kassanda and Mubende.

Kyobe Henry Bbosa, the Incident Manager said,"As we know it took only just a week to have the outbreak coming out of the epicenter, into the city and as Dr Moeti said it has moved to another big city and we have had secondary transmission and that poses another challenge which we are battling with. But with the community with us as we have seen in the epicenter districts of Mubende and Kassanda, we think we should be able to come on top of this," he added.

He added, "We do know that the restrictions of movements in these two districts has slowed down the transmission for the importation of cases outside the epicenter districts but that's not all, we need to continue working and make sure that we bring this outbreak to a speedy end."
