Wednesday, a 79-year-old woman died after getting run over by a vehicle in Aqaba, according to the Central Traffic Department.

The department's operations room told Amen FM that the accident left one dead and another injured.

The injured individual was transported to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical health condition.

According to the spokesperson, the accident occurred due to reckless driving and failure to abide by traffic laws.

The department reiterated the need for pedestrians and drivers to be extra careful and abid by traffic rules, especially in light of the current weather conditions in Jordan.
