Friday, the Israeli Occupation Forces continued to besiege the occupied West Bank city of Jericho for the sixth consecutive day, as reported by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Local sources said that the IOF set up checkpoints and cement barriers at the main and secondary entrances to the city, stopping vehicles and implementing thorough security checks on all vehicles leaving the city.

This came after the IOF raided the city all the way to the entrance of Aqabat Jaber refugee camp, southwest of the city, and fired tear gas at Palestinians.

Those who wanted to travel to Jordan through Jericho to reach the Allenby/King Hussein/Karama bridge crossing, complained of long delays and tedious security checks at army checkpoints.

The IOF had imposed the siege last week after an attempt to shoot a restaurant in the Israeli Occupation outside the city.

Notably, the IOF seems to believe that the alleged attacker escaped to Jericho.

Palestinians in the area said that the IOF imposed collective punishment on the entire city, which is economically harmful especially during the high tourist season.
