Friday, the media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said that two unidentified individuals attempted to rob a money exchange shop in Zarqa, while threatening employees with a toy gun, but were unsuccessful.

The individuals set the shop on fire then fled the scene, according to the Zarqa Police Directorate.

The spokesperson added that police officers were dispatched to the area where the incident happened as soon as it was reported. 

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) were quickly able to identify and located the suspected vehicle and arrest the two suspects, who were in posession of the toy gun.

He noted that after interrogations, the suspects confessed to planning the robbery, confirming that they were not able to steal any money.

Both individuals were referred to the Public Prosecutor of the State Security Court (SSC).
