Sunday night, the executive director of the Arabia Weather Mohammad Al-Shaker said the speed of wind is expected to exceed 100 km/h Monday and therefore is one of the contributing factors to the classification of the upcoming depression in Jordan as a fourth level depression.
Shaker told Roya that strong winds will start hitting the Kingdom at 10 am Monday morning, with the possibility of random showers in some areas.
He added that late Monday night and early Tuesday morning central regions will witness heavy rainfall, which is expected to continue up until Wednesday night.
Shaker said that the decision to declare a holiday is up to the local authorities and depends of their ability to deal with the upcoming heavy rainfall.
He stressed that the aim behind warning citizens about the upcoming depression is not to scare them, but rather advise them to take the necessary precautions.
