The Arabia Weather website stated Tuesday that the latest weather maps indicate that the Kingdom will continue to be affected by the same fourth-degree air depression.

It added that a new cold air front will cross Jordan tonight and extend towards the governorates of Karak and Tafilah, in addition to eastern regions.

Arabia Weather expected that the rainfall and snowfall will be intermittent occasionally which limits the occurrence of large accumulations.

It is also expected that snowfall will return intermittently tonight in the high mountainous areas, which are more than 1,000 meters above sea level, including the peaks of the Jerash and Ajloun mountains such as Ras Munif, Thaghret Asfour, Al Qaeeda triangle and the peaks of the Suf region and the high surrounding areas, in addition to the highest areas of Deir al-Kahf, Umm al-Qatin, Subha and Subhiya in the Mafraq governorate.

Additionally, several high areas in Amman and Balqa will witness snowfall. The snowfall will extend until the night hours to include the southern Mazar district and Mu'tah in Karak Governorate and later to the various heights of Tafila Governorate.

Snowfall will decrease intermittently in areas that are less than 1,000 meters above sea level after midnight and Wednesday morning as a result of the crossing of a new cold air front.

Earlier Tuesday, the Meteorological Department said that the cold air mass intensified in Jordan and rainy weather continues in the northern and centeral parts of the Kingdom and parts of the southern and eastern regions.

The department added that during the late night hours, 800-meter areas are expected to witness snowfall, with accumulations varying according to the area's height.

Following the air depression affecting Jordan, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) reiterated the importance of being extra cautious during the current unstable weather conditions in Jordan.

The PSD noted that all roads in the Kingdom are easily passable, with the exception of Al-Shobak Road, which is passable with caution, due to clear ice on the road.

In addition to the Wadi Al-Qamar Road in the Rusaifa area, which is partially closed due to flooding.

Abu Sayyah Road in eastern Amman is the only blocked road right now, due to flooding.

The PSD called on citizens to avoid valleys and places where floods could form.

It also reiterated the need to use heaters of all kinds with cation, which means they should only be used in rooms with proper ventilation and should be switched off before going to bed.

The PSD called on citizens and residents not hesitate to call 911 in case of emergencies.
