Israeli Occupation's parliament passed in the first of three readings a bill limiting the chances of a prime minister being impeached.

Opponents say the measure is aimed at protecting actual premier Benjamin Netanyahu, who is currently on trial for corruption charges he denies.

Knesset, or the government, will be the only body that can take the prime minister to jail. The law even goes so far as to state that the Supreme Court will not have the power to indict the prime minister.

The bill was presented by a member of the Likud party and head of the coalition, Ofir Katz. It prevents Netanyahu from being removed, except in the case of physical or mental incapacity which prevents him from filing his post as prime minister.

Additionally, the power to declare the incapacity of the prime minister will be only be exercised by the PM announcement to the Knesset or by the government passed by three quarters of its members and will only occur in the case of physical or mental incompetence.
