The Israeli Occupation authorities targeted 215 Palestinian journalists in 2022, according to a report by the Journalist Support Committee (JSC) Monday.

The JSC shared the figure on the National Day for the Injured Palestinian, saying "Palestinian journalists endure a dangerous work environment as they are always subject to the Israeli occupation's attacks and violations."

"The Israeli occupation uses internationally-banned arms in its daily aggression on journalists," the JSC added.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) "do not care about the Palestinian journalists," as there have been many incidents where they opened fire at journalists while they are wearing press vests, explained the JSC.

During May, the highest number of injuries among Palestinian journalists was reported, as a total of 54 people were injured by the IOF in the West Bank and Jerusalem, according to the JSC.

- January 2023 -

According to JSC's official website, approximately 62 violations were reported against media freedom and journalists in Palestine,  including (36) Israeli Occupation violations and 10 violations by Palestinian internal parties.

Additionally, more than 16 violations were committed by social media companies in an effort to limit Palestinian content and hide the Israeli Occupation’s crimes against the Palestinian people, the JSC said.
