Donald Trump announced he expects to be arrested on Tuesday in New York over claims he paid adult film star Stormy Daniels to remain quiet regarding their alleged affair.
Trump urged his supporters, in a post published Saturday on Truth Social, to “protest” his indictment and “take [their] nation back.”
He branded the hush money, which the Manhattan DA's office accuses him of paying, an “old and fully debunked fairy-tale.”
“THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!,” he wrote in all caps.
He also called the Manhattan DA's office a “CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE” in his post.
Trump insisted he was not guilty of any crime, and he reminded his followers that this was financed by the billionaire George Soros.
This comes over six years after Trump's lawyers allegedly paid Daniels to keep quiet about the affair, according to the Daily Mail.
