Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday he had held a new round of "meaningful and frank" talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping at the Kremlin, ahead of discussions between larger delegations, according to AFP.

"A very meaningful and frank exchange of views on the prospects for the development of Russian-Chinese relations has just taken place," the Russian leader said in comments aired on state television.
