The official working hours during Ramadan are from 10 am until 3 pm, according to an announcement made earlier by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh earlier.

-- Public sector --

The decision includes all ministries, official departments, institutions, public bodies, official universities, municipalities, joint services councils, the Greater Amman Municipality, and government-owned companies.

The decision, however, excludes those working in the private sector and employees whose nature of work requires otherwise.

-- Private sector --

Khasawneh’s decision does not include the private sector, the Labor Ministry said.

The ministry indicated that organizing and determining the working hours of private sector establishments during the holy month of Ramadan is left to the private sector and according to the internal system of each establishment.

-- Public schools –

The Ministry of Education announced that schools will start at 9 am during the holy month of Ramadan.

The working hours of employees in the education directorates start at 9 am and until 2 pm.

Classes will be 40 minutes long and breaks between classes are canceled.

As for schools that operate based on a two-period system, classes will be 35 minutes long.

-- Private schools --

The decision made by the Education Ministry includes private schools.

-- Banks --

The official working hours of banks in Jordan start from 9:30 am until 3 pm. Banks will be receiving visitors starting at 10 am until 2:30 pm, according to the Central Bank of Jordan.
