Friday, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah threatened the Prime Minister of Tel Aviv Benjamin Netanyahu that any event that occurs in Lebanon will be responded to by the resistance 'without hesitation.'

He said some of their actions in Palestine, Lebanon or Syria might 'drag the region into a full-blown war.'

He continued saying: " The [Palestinian] resistance must be supported with money and weapons. Whoever is capable of delivering weapons to the West Bank must do so, ourselves and others."

Regarding the recent events in southern Lebanon and the firing of rockets at settlements in the northern occupied Palestinian territories, Nasrallah sees it as a major event considering the situation since 2006.

In a televised speech on the occasion of Jerusalem Day, he also praised the recent Saudi-Iranian agreement and said: "Counting on an Arab-Israeli alliance in the face of Iran and the axis of resistance is over."

He added that "This development in the region has major impacts on the path of normalizing ties [between the Israeli Occupation and Arab states] which we see as positive while the enemy regards it as negative. It will, at least, slow down the path of normalizing ties."

He continued saying "Counting on a war fuelled by Arabs and Gulf states against Iran is also over. Counting on an American war backed by the Gulf and Israel against the Islamic Republic is also over until further notice."

Nasrallah considered that the return of Syria to the League of Arab States is not the important point, pointing out that the important point is the return of normal political relations between Syria and the Arab countries.

Notably, Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed to resume their diplomatic relations a few days ago, in a historic agreement that ended a years-long rivalry.

Friday evening, Saudi Arabia is scheduled to host a meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, Egypt, Jordan and Iraq to discuss Syria's return to the Arab League.
