Tuesday, the Minister of Interior Mazen Al-Faraya instructed administrative governors to release 551 administrative detainees ahead of Eid Al-Fitr.

The decision came after all the detainees' cases were studied and it was confirmed that their release would not pose a threat to people's safety.

The aim is to ensure these detainees rejoin society, and reunite with their friends and family for Eid.

This came as part of the Ministry's latest approach to dealing with administrative detention, which only keeps those who pose a threat to themselves and others in custody.
