A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck the city of Khanaqin, northeastern Iraq on Wednesday.

Reports said that the earthquake occurred around 8:00 am on Wednesday morning, Iraqi time, 27 km northwest of Khanaqin, Diyala Governorate in Iraq.

Many residents said they felt the quake, but no casualties or damage was reported.
