Abeer Rasheed, who lost three of her children in last year’s building collapse in Jabal Al-Weibdeh, waived her personal right and the complaint submitted after reconciling with the person in charge of the construction of the building.

The other complainant is also expected to reconcile with the person in charge of the construction in the near future.

In turn, the judicial body in charge of the case at the Amman Criminal Court gave the person in charge of the main building seven days to present two defense witnesses, after he requested to do so twice.

The court heard nine witnesses presented by the defense attorneys of the defendant, after the Public Prosecution presented the evidence (more than 30).

Rasheed, who was greatly affected by the accident that claimed the lives of 14 people, was dubbed “Khansaa of Al-Weibdeh" after a seventh-century poet who wrote tragic poetry about the deaths of her brothers and sons.

In January, the Royal Hashemite Court gave Rasheed a new home, as well as several others that were also affected by the four-story residential building collapse.

At the time of the accident, His Majesty King Abdullah II returned from abroad to oversee the 84-hour rescue effort.
He also ordered that the RHC provide the families of the victims with all necessities, including housing.
