A 13-year-old student died Tuesday after falling from the roof of her school in Al-Karak Governorate. The girl was taken to Al-Karak Governmental Hospital but died soon after.

According to Roya's correspondent, the body of the student was transferred to the forensic medicine department in the hospital to determine the cause of death.

The Minister of Education Azmi Mahafza confirmed to Roya that the ministry opened an investigation into the incident to find out its circumstances.

He said that the student was an eighth grader studying in a private school in Karak.

The school administration mourned the student and decided to suspend attendance on Wednesday, May 17.
