The European Union in Jordan posted Wednesday on its official Facebook page that it protects the full enjoyment of human rights by LGBTIQ+ worldwide.
The post read: "The EU protects and promotes the full enjoyment of human rights by LGBTIQ+ persons in all aspects of their lives; within the EU and around the world."
"Today we stand with all – United in Diversity."
May 17 marks the "International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia."
According to the Council of Europe's website, this day commemorates the 1990 decision of the World Health Organization (WHO) to "remove homosexuality from the list of mental disorders."
"The Council of Europe has been adamant in voicing its commitment to end homophobia and transphobia in its member states."
