Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish President, began his new presidential term on Saturday by taking the constitutional oath during a ceremony held in Parliament.
The oath emphasized his commitment to upholding the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the state.
Erdogan pledged to safeguard the will of the people in line with democratic principles, respect human rights and freedom, and vowed to uphold the rights granted to individuals.
He expressed his dedication to enhancing the reputation and dignity of the country, and pledged to execute his duties as president with complete impartiality.
As part of the event, Erdogan is also scheduled to visit the mausoleum of Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish Republic.
An official dinner is expected to be held as part of the ceremony.
