Two children were killed Sunday in a house fire in the Syrian capital, Damascus, according to the Syrian Ministry of Interior.

The home is located behind the Umayyad Mosque in Al-Hamidiya district.

The bodies were transferred to Al-Mujtahid Hospital.

According to initial information, the cause of the fire was an electrical fault.

An investigation has been launched.
