Today, June 5, marks the 56th anniversary of Naksa Day, or the day of the “setback,” a commemoration of the displacement of Palestinians resulting from the 1967 Six-Day War between Israeli Occupation and Jordan, Syria, and Egypt.

The war resulted in the deaths of 15,000 to 25,000 Arabs and 650 to 800 those from Israeli Occupation, with 45,000 Arabs and 2,000 settlers wounded.

Approximately 300,000 Palestinians were displaced from the West Bank and Gaza, seeking refuge in Jordan.

Tel Aviv occupied the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, East Jerusalem, and a significant portion of the Syrian Golan Heights, expanding its territory to about 77 percent of its total area.
